Every detail of this mod romantic elopement wedding inspiration has our hearts a flutter! The extremely talented Julie of J. Eliza Events was the visionary behind this modern goodness. The geometric details and whimsical florals are so perfect!
When thinking about this inspiration shoot I had the image of a fresh couple with a downtown elopement. This couple and the perfect venue, Aventura, a tapas restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan provided inspiration for this mod elopement shoot with romantic floral gestures. The rose mosaic tile wall is a stunning focal point in Aventura and served as the primary inspiration for the design. Every time I’m in Aventura I’m sure to have a seat facing the wall – it’s too gorgeous to not be in eyesight. The striking wall is both romantic, with large roses composed of varying shades of pink, and mod with the dark mosaic tiles contrasted against the pink roses. This theme of mod and floral romance was carried throughout the design. I am incredibly grateful to the fabulous team of Michigan vendors who came together for this shoot. We were all so inspired by the restaurant décor and a vision of an elopement celebration for a chic city-dwelling couple.
This inspiration couple chose their favorite restaurant with its unique décor elements of unexpected green velvet chairs, exposed brick walls, black and white mosaic tile floors below the wrap-around bar, and expansive floor to ceiling windows facing a downtown street. Paper and Honey beautifully referenced the black and white tile floor and the dark mosaic tiles and roses of the focal wall in the stationery design. The black edging of the menu cards contrasts with the floral elements for a design that is romantic, but not too sweet, and the floral lettering on the bar cart sign continues the floral theme in a subtle manner. When designing the floral arrangement I looked to velvety, layered pink garden roses as a romantic nod to the mosaic tile wall, while the cascading hellebores brought a modern and visually striking look to the arrangement and bouquet. The floral design both softens and complements the restaurant’s purple and green velvet seating. The Gown Shop selected two gowns that perfectly fit the vision. The short, lace dress embodies a downtown elopement ceremony. The chic, long gown with a low-slung back and lace accent transforms the bride into a stunning, yet laid-back bride ready for an evening of celebrating with family and friends. Finishing touches of a gold bar cart serving rose water sangria blanca and gin and tonic, garden rose favors for guests, platinum Kate Spade linens, green goblets, and a visually stunning cake created by Sweet Heather Anne rounded out the mod yet romantic elopement shoot.
This city-loving inspiration couple walked through downtown Ann Arbor so in love after eloping and before celebrating with family and friends at Aventura. Elopements today do not have to be short on style and this couple is rocking their stylish elopement status. Melanie Reyes Photography beautifully
