Today’s Midwest couple loves the great outdoors and opted for a cozy and cute forest inspired engagement session.
The engagement season is officially open, and we kicked it off with an amazing session! I am really excited to share with you our first style shoot of the year. We started planning Brock & Dana’s engagement session a few months ago. From the beginning we wanted a setting that would create a romantic getaway. Location, time of year, and time of day are so important when trying to establish the right look and feel. For instance, spring is really the only time of year that this section of the forest isn’t overgrown and accessible. We choose an old pine plantation with perfect rows that run east to west. The backlight was also essential to creating the romantic scenario in these photos.I love the transformation that the forest floor took on by just adding the soft white bedding and pops of yellow in the pillow and wine bottle. We established the perimeter of our romantic getaway by creating a square canopy with falling trees that were found in the forest. The simple sheer curtains help to give the scene a soft touch and also help define the boundaries. – Nick
