We love spring and summer, but fall is special in the Midwest. Today we wanted to share this shabby chic fall wedding. Perfect for newly engaged couples this spring that might be planning a fall wedding.
More from the Bride, Annie:
I had a lot of favorite things about my wedding… I liked getting ready with my girls at the bridal house on property and peeking out the window to see how everything was coming together. I really loved how my own personal items were around the tables at the reception. I used a lot of Vintage Rental’s inventory, but most of the tablescapes were entirely my own, and I loved that it was personal, which is exactly what I wanted.
Advice I would give for brides planning a similar wedding: If you want a homey and relaxed wedding, do not use your own furniture. I rented almost all of the furniture we used from Vintage Rentals, and only a few of the tables were my own. I really liked pie, and I originally thought that my mom and I would bake some for the wedding, but as we continued planning we knew that we wouldn’t be able to do that. With that being said, I would tell brides that they cannot do everything. My mom and I did all of the planning and footwork, and we were concerned about how things would get done on the day of when we were supposed to be getting ready. When we found Vintage Rentals, it was such a relief. We had nothing to worry about when we were having our hair done, because they had it covered. I would suggest getting at least a day-of coordinator to help get things done while you’re off getting ready, because you will not have time to be setting tables or corralling vendors as the arrive. I used a lot of personal items, and I was gathering them a few months in advance to make sure that I didn’t forget anything. I would suggest designating part of a room to gather your things in, I used a room in my parents basement that was used for storage, so it’s all in one place. When I started planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted to feel like home, and I think we achieved that!
