All things cozy and fabulous in this Lodge at Ironwoods wedding. We couldn’t resist this romantic winter wedding!
Dusty and I wanted the wedding to be elegant and timeless with some personality-packed details thrown in. With our wedding date being November 15th, we chose navy blue and gold as our colors, keeping it seasonably appropriate, yet warm. Navy blue and gold are also sentimental to us because we met at a University of Notre Dame football game 8 years ago. We wanted our guests to feel the traditional elements of the night and feel our personalities come out in every detail of the wedding. Exiting the church to the first winter snowfall of 2014, we were greeted with navy and gold ribbon wands and bells. Entering the reception, we wanted people to leave the cold outside and feel the warmth of the lodge with our custom gobo and amber uplighting. Our tuscan style head table, littered with warm candle light and high and low hydrangea centerpieces, was not only more beautiful than we could have every imagined, but also allowed our wedding party to sit with their spouses and for us to feel as though we could talk with everyone. Our place settings were set out with a thank you note to our guests as well as a note informing our guests of a donation we made on their behalf to a local animal shelter. Speaking of animals, our cat, Mia, made a tactful guest appearance peering out of the back side of our very traditional wedding cake. We danced the night away with what seemed like our entire guest list to the sounds of our amazing DJ. The hit of the dance party were glow sticks and glow glasses distributed to the dance floor by our bridal party. The most important element of our wedding was that we got to spend our first night as husband and wife having the time of our lives with the people we love must in all of the world….I couldn’t have dreamt it up any better. – Ashley, the Bride
