Ah, the charm and details in this quintessential Wisconsin lodge inspired wedding is simply gorgeous. All of the charming details with the added coziness of a lodge make this Midwest wedding perfection. Enjoy!
Maidenwood Lodge is nestled in the hills over Lake Pepin in Wisconsin, in the beautiful town of Stockholm. Late this spring, Inspired Realities Events & Design gathered a team of talented vendors from the Make It Grand Marketplace in the Twin Cities to have a bit of fun making things pretty at the Lodge. The design team kept the colors muted so as not to take away from the lodge’s natural beauty. Peach, ivory, green, and splashes of copper and added in for a bit of flair were antlers found on the land nearby. Floral designer, Studio B Floral, brought her talents to bear by using the array of plants and trees on site. Our model, Nicki, (past client of Inspired Realities) was called on to spend the day, back in her dress, and have some fun in front of the camera. Of course, she said YES! We asked her to share her thoughts on the day and the new venue: “The shoot at Maidenwood was in a word serendipitous. I loved wearing my dress again and being able to go barefoot in the grass [not something I got to do on my wedding day]. With none of the cares or preoccupations I might have had the first time I wore my gown, I was able to soak in every sweet moment and just have fun reliving my wedding day in my head. As I drove to the venue, counting down the miles, the turn off the main road onto the gravel road seemed to be the only thing parting the large green fields and trees showing off the area’s cliffs and valleys. The road to the Lodge set the tone for the entire day. Driving up to the house, it felt like I’d stepped into a painting. There’s a little shed and the barn with so many flowers that I couldn’t even see the front door. I was dwarfed in this enormous estate, pristinely groomed and maintained, yet somehow felt like I was home. The only thing that was not perfect about the day was that I had to leave it all behind. Maidenwood has left its mark on my heart.” The large white lodge with its soaring green-peaked roof welcomes you as you arrive. Have your eyes open wide as you walk through the door because you’re in for a visual treat. The vaulted two story great room lets all the light pour in and makes you just gaze upward toward the sky. Every room has its own cozy, welcoming feel – and it really does feel like home. The owners, Jo and Brian, have a heart for hospitality and a knack for cooking and will leave you full, satisfied, happy and comfortable. Jo shared her heart with us and her dreams for what the Lodge will be; Maidenwood isn’t just a wedding event space. It’s a home. I see couples coming for pre-marriage counseling (Jo is also a certified counselor), getting married here and coming back for their anniversaries to stay at the B&B. I see women and men coming to use the space for retreats, book clubs and craft weekends. We view this as not just our home but a space to share with others. Maidenwood Lodge has the capacity for up to 200 guests in both the wedding circle overlooking Lake Pepin and in their event barn near the house. The grounds are sweeping and massive and there is ample onsite parking available. In the lodge you’ll find two guest rooms (with more to be renovated and added soon) and a honeymoon suite situated above the garage with its own private entrance. Maidenwood is taking reservations beginning Fall 2015 for events and overnight stays. If you’re looking for a quaint, versatile, beautiful venue, you really need to see Maidenwood Lodge! The visual beauty put together by the vendors of Make It Grand showcase the amazing space and all that Maidenwood Lodge has to offer.
