We adore every detail of this DIY blue backyard wedding from the wildflower bouquets to the patterned bridesmaid dresses. The homemade chocolate chip cake looks so deliciously yummy, we would love a slice!
After meeting each other and falling in love as students at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI, Seth and Rachel got married in Marshall nearby. Every moment of Seth and Rachel’s wedding was uniquely theirs, from the chambray clad bridal party to tent reception at Seth’s family home in Battle Creek. Rachel wore a dress purchased from Bellisima Bridal that she could only find in size 12. Two friends helped her completely redo and customize the dress to fit her perfectly. A woman from their church made the bright bouquets for the bridal party and friends and family contributed flowers from their gardens to adorn tables at the reception. A friend from the coffee shop that Rachel worked at designed their invitations. Between the ceremony and reception, Seth and Rachel hosted a large reception for members of the church where they served the most amazing wedding cake I’ve ever had. Two of girls from their church made both gluten free and regular chocolate chip cakes with coffee icing and passion fruit curd from the Momofuku Milk Bar recipe book. For the evening reception, friends brought side dishes and cookies to go along with barbeque from Redline BBQ. Guests received weddings favors of delicious jam made my Rachel’s mom. Every part of Seth and Rachel’s day showed a little more how much their friends and family love them! – Sally O’Donnell
