We are swooning over these riverside bridal portraits. More on the inspiration behind the river swept bride: I’ve always been intrigued by water and what it can symbolize. Most summers growing up, my family vacationed along the North Carolina coast. I would stare at the vastness of the sea and try to visualize its depth. The shoreline is one of the only places in the world where I feel safe to be completely and utterly powerless. Water in its many forms can symbolize renewal and strength. Waves of the ocean can rage while a lake can be so still it mirrors the sky.Except for the Snake River, Idaho is land-locked. I found a little stream in Idaho Falls and followed it until it washed down into the Snake River. Truly, with a sandy beach area, weather-worn boulders, and heavy greenery, this spot was a little oasis and I was completely inspired. Alexis made the perfect sandy beach bride and the golden tones of the wedding dress complemented her blond locks perfectly.
