Today we are sharing a fall wedding with African inspired details. The fabric for the guys ties, pocket squares, girls necklaces, bags, and the decor were all designed and assembled by one of the brides good friends in Nairobi, Kenya.
Clare and Rob said their I do’s on a sunny fall day in St. Paul. Clare and Rob are some of the coolest people you will ever meet. Clare spent the majority of her life after graduating college over seas. During her engagement to Rob she was working in Kenya. This is where the fabric for the guys ties, pocket squares, girls necklaces, bags, and the decor came from- and where they were assembled by one of Clare’s good friends Diana Akelo Scarangella of Nairobi, Kenya. Clare’s bouquet also had meaning to it. The fabric around her bouquet was part of her grandmothers wedding dress and a broach made from her great grandmothers and mothers pearl wedding earrings. Clare and Rob are both Tommy’s (graduates of St. Thomas in St. Paul) and decided to get married during the Tommy-Johnnie game- a huge rivalry game that the whole city gets into. We ventured over to their old stomping grounds and made sure to take a photo with some Tommy’s under the arches- where Clare and Rob also shared a kiss because of the St. Thomas tradition to kiss your sweetheart under the arches.Clare and her bridesmaids got married in the home she grew up in which meant a lot to her because she had spent so much time overseas. We took photos around the neighborhood she grew up in and like I said before, hers and Robs old stomping grounds of the St. Thomas campus. – Jaimee Morse
