We are back with a darling preppy red white and blue wedding. Erin and Adam celebrated their July wedding day with lots of Kansas City inspired details – including bbq at the reception and KC Royals on their wedding cake!
Adam and I met a year and a half before our wedding. I think we both knew from day one that together was exactly where we belonged. We wanted our wedding day to be focused on the joy of being surrounded by all of our favorite people.
Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful, a July day in Kansas could have been miserably hot but we were so lucky to have mild weather with incredible blue skies. We took a chance on our reception venue and booked it while it was still under construction. Our reception was the first event held there and we could not have asked for a more perfect venue. We fell in love with the classic but modern feel of navy blue and white stripes and bright red felt like the perfect complement.
Like so many weddings, our planning started with Pinterest. We took many of the ideas we found there and with small tweaks made them our own. My mom made all of the navy blue and white table cloths and many of the details, including the signage, ceremony programs and name cards, were projects I spent time working on. Several of the details also came from Etsy. The florals were my favorite detail… I burst into tears when the florist walked into our house with our bouquets! All of our vendors went above and beyond. They were incredible!
My favorite part of the day was stepping back during the reception to see everyone enjoying themselves – dancing, eating, drinking and just having a good time! – Erin, the beautiful Bride
