Today we are sharing a lovely Black Hills wedding, complete with a bloody mary bar!
Chris & Melissa were married in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They started dating in high school but parted ways during college. They kept in touch through school and eventually reunited after graduation in 2010. Melissa had been waiting for Chris to pop the question for some time. While the bride did not have a specific theme for the wedding she didn’t want the affair to seem to stuffy, but also wanted it to be classy. All of the signage at the wedding was all DIY. Even the wine glasses that the guests got to take home as souvenirs were hand painted with chalk board paint. The bride also wanted the kids to feel welcome. She created a candy bar and a huge goodie bags for the kids to have during the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was officiated by the brides brother-in-law. He made the service both personal and unique. The bride chose guava and mercury as her colors, and wanted dresses that her gals were comfy in. The groomsmen wore Van sneakers that were a gift from the groom. Bloody Mary’s were a family favorite so the bride knew she had to incorporate them into the cocktail hour. At the reception, floral decor was incorporated onto the tables for a pop of color. The guests enjoyed cupcakes instead of sheet cake, and there were also gluten free options. The couples love of biking was also noticeable by the DIY cake topper and napkins. The bride loved getting married in the Black Hills and said it was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. The weather was perfect and so was their day! – Cadey Reisner
