This Michigan bed and breakfast wedding is simply stunning. The couple shared a jewel toned winter wedding inside a cozy bed and breakfast. We adore the florals and lush greenery created by The Day’s Design.
In the late fall of this past year, I had the pleasure of planning a celebration that wasn’t only for a fantastic bride but also my younger sister. She slowly began planning her nuptials for this upcoming May but soon realized that we never really know what tomorrow will bring and with that thought in mind, the couple decided to marry the next month. This entire event was planned in a little less than a month’s time.
We were fortunate enough to be working on the off skirts of wedding season, and since her sister is a professional wedding planning and floral designer – luck just happened to be on their side. With the holidays approaching, we chose to keep the décor somewhat festive without ignoring the fact that fall hadn’t completely eluded us yet. Simple, colorful and natural were all words the bride used to describe her day as she chose a traditional style dress, a rich jewel-toned palette that paired perfectly with the Georgian-style mansion and her favorite blooms, peonies and lilies, were combined with winter greenery, fruit and other seasonal favorites.
The ceremony itself took place at the base of the bed and breakfast’s grand staircase, which made for a dramatic bridal entrance and a little extra fun for the flower girls and ring bearer – who also happened to be the bride’s son. The entire celebration took place at the Montague Inn, which meant guests never had to step out into the chilly November air and were even allowed to stay the night, should they so desire. The 40 guests enjoyed an intimate dinner, followed by amazing cheesecake and pies and ended the evening dancing under the oversized brass chandelier in the foyer of the historic inn. – Shelby of The Day’s Design
